Existing balcony to be roofed over to provide additional space as well as creating a rainwater collector. Existing roof to be rebuilt with insulated aluminium extrusion system
Natural Ventilation (Stack Effect)
The south elevation will be protected by a ventilation shaft. The south facing elevation will heat up at high level and create a "stack effect" to facilitate a natural ventilation mechanism to the house.
Natural Ventilation (Wind Catcher)
Wind in the area will also cause negative pressure on top of the chimney stake to encourage air movement within the house.
No mosquitoes zone
The North elevation will be extended with a double story screen to filter out mosquitoes and at the same time allow fresh air to move through the building.
Cooler air

The area immediately in front of the house will have trees and shrubs to 1) lower the air temperature and 2) as filters for cleaner air.
