Stamos yeoh architects was formed in 2007 to pursue high quality design in the private and hospitality sectors, including private residential & the hotel industry. Increasingly, we have become successful in other sectors including commercial, community as well as interior & product design. We actively sketch & create models to test our ideas & to help present them to our audiences, be they developer clients or public bodies. We see these methods as critical drivers towards a successful design.

Sya has significant experience with resolving complicated & challenging briefs, ranging from tricky site conditions to complex planning negotiations which can often hinder projects in their early stages & we are confident in our resolution methods. These often include addressing sensitive planning or listed building issues, collaborating with various client organisations, potentially comprised of government agencies, and evaluating problematic sites that can exert pressure on the procurement process.

We aim to transform ordinary materials & components into something enchanting, utilising the seemingly monotonous and unremarkable in a creative & thought-provoking way. 

 

Our proposals derive their form from the ‘genius loci’, their sense of place & specific location, drawing on references like material, scale, proportions & rhythm to inform and underscore the enduring significance of our concepts.

 

We see our projects as the telling of a story, a thread tying together a site’s history, its present & future. We aspire to create emotions which in turn trigger an exciting journey involving the creation of reality from a concept or a dream. 

 

Our practice blends the expertise of many consultants who specialise not only in design but areas such as sustainability, planning, lighting, mechanical and structural engineering. Our involvement in a project can be fully comprehensive or as simple as designing bespoke furniture.
